Which is it? Quality of Life or Living Miserably
Decisions of cancer treatments and quality of life questions to think about.
We know a man who is in his late 60s. He had throat cancer first. He did the complete standard medicine regimen of surgery, lymph nodes taken out twice, radiation, and chemo. His hearing was lost, his sense of taste and smell is lost, and he has chemo memory. They declared him cancer-free after his last lymph gland removals. Now, this is not a year later, and he has cancer in his lungs. He has not decided on his next steps. He says it's up to his doctors. I know many in our church alone who have gone through the same regimen. Is that quality of life to gain 5 more years ? Only you can decide that for your life.
I am sure that if you have kids and are young, it might be. If you have tumors causing you severe pain, it is understandable to get surgery. Many decisions can change your path to healing. Just explore other options as well. Learn about possible other routes to healing your cancer. Knowledge is power.
Do not let your oncologist railroad you into decisions. It is your life. On that note, it is your decision and not others to make on your treatment plan. I am the black sheep of our family who does not understand our use of Fenben instead of surgery over my basal cell cancer and his new squamous cell cancer on his nose.
I had surgery on my basal cell cancer, and it grew right back in the same place, not even two years later. I talked to my sister today, and she remarked that it’s crazy. She had no idea what Fenben is, but standard medicine is her life. There are doctors successfully treating cancer with Fenben and Ivermectin. In FB, you will find success stories for almost any cancer.
At our age, standard medicine, surgery, chemo, etc., is not our option. I am fine with pain meds to make dying easier, but we personally do not want to spend several years throwing up, feeling like death warmed over, for a small extension of time. My husband has CLL and now possibly esophageal cancer. What have we chosen to do at this point?
Our choice is holistic, including Fen Ben and Ivermectin, Essiac tea, mushrooms, curcumin, and other supplements to try and beat this. He has fatigue but no other debilitating symptoms of cancer at this point. Yes, he has seriously abnormal white counts, but his platelets are normal, and at this point, his red blood cells are in the normal range. His kidney and liver functions are normal, and his A1c is normal. He can smell and taste his food. He is not nauseated or throwing up. His pain level is mild. I see most of our neighbors are much sicker than he is. It does cost us a lot, and we don’t take vacations, but if we were doing chemo, radiation, and the rest, we would be much more miserable.
It is not guaranteed you will survive either with standard or holistic medicine, so it is a gamble either way. I might add that I am a member of many cancer Facebook groups. In those groups, people are beating cancer and extending their lives. Many of them were given up to die by standard medicine, so they had nothing to lose. Many Stage 4 cancers are being cured with alternative therapies. You need to become a member of these groups before you make that decision: chemo, etc, versus holistic medicine.
I wrote this just to make you think about these issues. Cancer happens every day to ourselves and those we love.
