Lion's Mane for Sleep and Anxiety Problems
Did you know that Lion’s Mane mushrooms not only help your brain and memory but can also help you get more restful sleep? Do you have anxiety that keeps you awake? Learn about Lion's Mane Today!
Do you have trouble falling asleep or waking up around 3 to 5 AM and not being able to get back to sleep?
With Cancer, Lyme Disease, and Chronic illness, many of you reading this are having critical sleep problems. You need sleep so that your body can detox and repair your cells. Sleep is critical and is one of the major issues affecting people’s health.
My husband and I have separate health issues. Mine is falling asleep, and his sleep issue is waking up after 3 am and not being able to go back to sleep. We have tried many herbal combinations that did not work. Now we take Lion’s Mane and Ashwagandha about an hour before going to bed.
How can Lion’s Mane benefit the brain, sleep, and anxiety?
In my original research on herbs and mushrooms that help repair brain function, I missed the sleep and anxiety benefits of taking Lion’s Mane Mushrooms. It wasn’t until I saw an ad for Lion’s mane talking about its ability to ease anxiety and sleep issues that we tried it. The video talked about taking Lion’s Mane when having anxiety attacks; for a clearer mind from brain fog, and before bed to calm your mind and system down from stress. I was amazed at the results.

Lion’s Mane Overall Benefits
“Lion’s mane is a large, white mushroom that, as it grows, has a shaggy appearance that resembles a lion’s mane. Studies have demonstrated that lion’s mane helps increase Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) levels, which protects us against degenerative brain diseases that contribute to memory loss.17 While lion’s mane is best known for improving memory and concentration, studies show it can reduce irritability and anxiety.18,19 Several studies have also indicated that lion’s mane has immune-boosting benefits. Harmful pathogens enter the body through the mouth or nose as we breathe in. Lion’s mane can bolster our defenses by helping to stimulate gut bacteria to trigger the immune system. 20,21”Review Scout
Capsules versus Extracts
You can take either, but extracts reduce the number of capsules you need to take. Many people find the extract is faster acting and takes less time out of your busy day. If you have trouble swallowing capsules, extracts are the way to go.
Dosage
I would suggest starting with the minimum dosage to know how your individual body system reacts to Lion’s Mane. Give it a full week before you increase the dosage.
Caution
Lion’s Mane does have blood-thinning properties. It should not be taken when pregnant or nursing unless your doctor approves of it.
If you are taking over-the-counter or prescription medication for any disease or health issue, including sleep issues, anxiety, depression, or blood thinners, talk to your doctor first about Lion’s Mane.
Herbs and supplements can affect how prescription medicine or OTC meds affect you. This is important.
