Did Ivermectin really kill a woman in Colorado this week?
Lets discuss this case of an assumed death from Ivermectin making headlines in my state, Colorado. I have some questions and comments around what the article stated about her death to discuss.
Here are the facts stated in the article according to the coroner below
“The Douglas County coroner is reporting a 74-year-old Colorado woman died of “ivermectin toxicity” in August, CBS News Colorado has learned. It’s the second such death in the state, and it’s triggering renewed cautions about the different forms of ivermectin. (She was using the animal paste product)
According to a Douglas County Coroner’s Office autopsy report, Mary Doran died on Aug. 2 after a series of seizures due to “probable ivermectin toxicity.” The report describes her death as an accident.
According to the report obtained by CBS News Colorado, Doran had reportedly been taking ivermectin “for chronic pain.” It states: “The decedent and her husband were reportedly taking ivermectin intermittently over the past year which was being taken 2 times a day over the past 6 days. ... Ivermectin was present at the decedent’s home.”
The report notes: “There is currently no available toxicology testing available for the confirmation of ivermectin.”
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said this was only the second death in the state since 2020 mentioning possible or probable ivermectin toxicity as the cause.
The agency said it had no records of ivermectin deaths from 2010-2020.” NewsBreak Report
Questions I pose below after reading this article above
So, they have ruled it a probable death from Ivermectin even though there is no current technology to test a body for ivermectin toxicity. Interesting.
She had chronic pain so probably took other OTC drugs for her chronic pain as well. We have no other clue on what other OTC drugs she was taking or prescription drugs along with the Ivermectin.
We have no idea what dosage of the Ivermectin she was taking either. All we know is that she was taking it twice a day and had been for a long period of time.
We have no idea on any health issues such as diabetes or heart disease that could have contributed to the seizures and her death.?
Did she have a flu or Covid shot just before this happened?
Did she drink alcohol?
What condition was she in chronic pain from? Did she have an undiagnosed disease that could have contributed to the seizures?
They have really been pushing vaccinations for the elderly over the past several months.
Did she have liver disease already before taking the Ivermectin?
Did she take CBD or other pot products along with the Ivermectin? They are legal in Colorado.
If this had been a Tylenol death, a prescription drug death, a antidepressant death, a hospital overdose death, a alcohol related death, a nursing home death from overdosing by the staff would it have made national news?
No. It made national news because she was taking Ivermectin.
Look at the death rate for Ivermectin in Colorado for probable Ivermectin deaths…. ONLY 2 since 2020…not even confirmed.
“The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said this was only the second death in the state since 2020 mentioning possible or probable ivermectin toxicity as the cause. The agency said it had no records of ivermectin deaths from 2010-2020.”
Now read through below the different medications below causing seizures and other dangerous side effects. Read on down to see the death rates in the many thousands for OTC and other drugs, for prescription drugs, for medical mistakes in the hospital.
“Certain medications, particularly antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), can have side effects that may include seizures, especially if not taken as prescribed or if there are interactions with other medications.”
“Common Medications and Their Side Effects including seizures!
Brivaracetam (Briviact): Used as an add-on treatment for partial-onset seizures. Possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, and fatigue, which can potentially lead to seizure activity if the medication is not properly managed.
Gabapentin (Neurontin): Often prescribed for neuropathic pain and seizures. Side effects can include dizziness and fatigue, which may increase the risk of seizures in some patients.
Lamotrigine (Lamictal): Used for epilepsy and bipolar disorder. While effective, it can cause serious skin rashes and other side effects that may lead to seizure exacerbation if not monitored.
Topiramate (Topamax): This medication is used for epilepsy and migraine prevention. Side effects include cognitive impairment and dizziness, which can increase the risk of seizures in some individuals.
Valproate (Depakote): Commonly used for epilepsy and mood stabilization. It can cause weight gain, tremors, and other side effects that may lead to seizure activity if not properly managed.

Important Considerations
Drug Interactions: Many medications can interact with AEDs, potentially increasing the risk of seizures. It is crucial to inform healthcare providers about all medications being taken, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
Dosage and Compliance: Taking medications as prescribed is vital. Missing doses or abrupt discontinuation can lead to withdrawal seizures or increased seizure frequency.”

“America’s Silent Epidemic Worsens: Adverse Drug Events Now the Third Leading Cause of Death

American Society of Pharmacovigilance Calls for National Action, Rebrands Campaign to ‘Third Cause’
HOUSTON, March 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In 2021, the American Society of Pharmacovigilance (ASP) launched the Fourth Cause Campaign to raise awareness that adverse drug events (ADEs) were the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. Today, new data confirm a troubling and unacceptable reality—ADEs have now surged to become the third leading cause of death. An internal analysis conducted by ASP projects that adverse drug events now account for over 250,000 deaths annually, surpassing stroke and respiratory disease, making it the third leading cause of death in the United States.
This alarming statistic stems from several factors:
Underreporting of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs): Research indicates that more than 94% of ADRs are not reported by healthcare professionals, delaying the detection of safety signals and hindering accurate assessment of medication risks.
Diagnostic Errors: Misdiagnosis or underdiagnosis accounts for an estimated 40,000 to 80,000 hospital deaths per year, contributing significantly to the overall mortality associated with medical errors.
Medication Errors: Errors in prescribing, dispensing, or administering medications lead to adverse outcomes, further elevating the risk of death.”
Is her death, as sad as it is, worth the scare tactics in the article? It is up to each one of you to consider all of this article plus doing your own research to decide that. “
Important Rules To FOLLOW
Know that all medications including Ivermectin have effects on the body. They can raise liver enzymes and have other side effects even death.
You need to get your blood tested especially your liver enzymes when taking Ivermectin just like other drugs.
You need to take it properly. Research everything before you take it.
You SHOULD NEVER take ivermectin or herbs along side other prescription drugs or alcohol without careful monitoring!
Research the dosage for Ivermectin, herbs, allergy tablets, GERD medicine, whatever you are taking to see the dosage, the side effects, how you use it and when it should be used.
There is pure Ivermectin that comes in tablets without all the other ingredients that the paste has in it and it is easier to get the dosage correctly.
I personally wouldn’t take the paste internally.
I will leave you with this, even if she died from overdosing on Ivermectin, what is the death rate for Ivermectin versus legal prescription drugs and OTC drugs.?
Which are you more likely to die from? Food for thought readers.
